Activities
For skating schedules see skating, for sports activities see the sports page, and for arts events, including music and theatre festivals, see arts in the park.
The park has a weekly Thursday farmer's market.
Check activities in the park listings (on this page) for scheduled activities, or just drop by the park and relax!
Food in the Park
Friday night suppers are held weekly at 6:00pm in summer outside by the bake ovens, in winter inside the rinkhouse. Everyone welcome.
During the summer you can make your own pizza in the park's wood fired ovens, and there's a food cart. During the winter skating season (starting late November) the Zamboni Café is in the rinkhouse.
Weekly there is the taste of the market -- ready-to-try food at the weekly Farmers' Market.

The park and the bureaucracy: read more So many letters...from the neighbourhood and beyond: Letters (1), Letters (2), Letters (3) The City takes notice: Malcolm Bromley, the City of Toronto's Director of Recreation, asked Recreation manager Costanza Allevato to work on a new "community engagement framework." She asked us: "what happens at Dufferin Grove Park?" On Sunday May 16, we did this partial census of activities. And we sent her a description of on-site staff work too. But now Mr.Bromley has taken a year's leave of absence to try running Parks and Recreation in Vancouver. It's unclear whether the "community engagement" meetings will continue. The July - August Newsletter is now on-line
CAMPFIRESFor the summer and fall, there are two small-group campfire locations – centre path and south path. The centre path fire circle is in the middle of the park, and the south path fire circle is beside the cob courtyard. The park’s recreation staff book the cooking fire times. They also give fire safety training and are available to help start/end your fire. You can reach them at 416-392-0913 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 416-392-0913 end_of_the_skype_highlighting or email staff@dufferinpark.ca, Read more >> Regular activities:FRIDAY NIGHT SUPPERS![]() FRIDAY NIGHT SUPPERSSupper is on from 6 to 7.30. There is always soup, a vegetarian or vegan entrée, a meat entrée, a side dish, a salad, and dessert. Most of the groceries are bought at the organic farmers’ market on Thursday, and most of the cooking is done in the outdoor wood-fired bake-ovens. The food is tasty, and conforms largely to the 100-mile “locavore” boundary. There’s a suggested donation, all of which goes back into the park, and to pay for the groceries. But if you can’t spare the cash, donate at some other time – nobody goes away hungry! (Of course, if you feel like donating more than the suggested amount, that’s fine too.) Click here for this Friday's menu. The playground café at the outdoor cob kitchenOpen 7 days a week except if it's raining. There's coffee, juices and pop, muffins and park cookies, organic hot dogs and Dufferin pitas (with Mary Sylwester's bean burgers, salads, and other surprises.
