Family Cushion Concert with Leah Salomaa

Thursday, April 19, 2007
7pm to 8pm (doors open at 6:30pm)
at Ossington Old Orchard Public School 380 Ossington Avenue (south of College)
Admission: $3/person (wow, what a deal!)
Tickets will be available only at the door on the night of the concert.

Leah Salomaa is a well known Toronto vocalist who specializes in Children's Folk Music. Her two recordings "I Like to Rise, Family Folk Songs" and "Father Sun and Mother Moon, Soulful Songs for Children" are favourites for children and parents alike. She has performed for families throughout Ontario through the TDSB, Folk Festivals, Ontario Public Libraries and private concerts. As a singer, her voice appears on numerous recordings for CBC radio, Nelvana animation, feature film and television scores.

Leah sings songs that everyone in the family can enjoy. She doesn't dumb anything down - singing with respect for children's natural sense of sophistication, when it comes to enjoying music. Harmonies are layered with interesting sonic arrangements, delivered fresh. Chris Gartner offers soulful, simple electric guitar and bass hooks, while primo Toronto guitarist Jason Fowler gives a 'down home' feel.
