Garrison Creek Sign

Maintenance Request:

request date: April 19 2006

About 10 years ago the park partnered with Canada Trust (as it was then called) to plant some native-species gardens and put up this sign about Garrison Creek and native plants. It has been out in the weather so long that it needs to be re-varnished. (Note the photos.) Could the City do that this spring/summer?

Response date: April 19, 2006

Work order sent in.

Message from paint shop: April 28, 2006

Can't do it.

E-mail to artist, Felisa Shizgal: May 1, 2006

We hope you can come by the park sometime in the next few weeks to have a look at the beautiful Garrison Creek sign that you painted 10 years ago. It's really showing signs of weathering now.

Tino asked about getting park painters to re-urethane it but no luck. We need to make a plan. Can you advise us?

Response from artist, May 4 2006:

The sign looks sad doesn’t it. I am not sure what to do with it but would be happy to meet you there some Wednesday after work or during the day on Monday.

Request from Felisa Shizgal to Jutta Mason, July 27, 2006

Anything come of your consultation with the parks and rec guy?

Response from Jutta Mason to Felisa Shizgal, July 27, 2006

I have not done one damn thing about it.
