The cob courtyard is lit up with white lights this winter. The cob fireplace will be the site of some winter cooking, beginning soon after Christmas. Patrick Jolly, who built the cob fireplace last summer, will be working with others on Tuesday December 27, weather permitting, to build a big snow semicircle close to the fireplace, for wind protection. Then the winter cooking can begin (watch for announcements at the rink and on the park web site, www.dufferinpark.ca). Fire permits for people who want to use the cob fireplace continue to be free and the staff will supply wood. Call the park if you want to book: 416 392-0913.
