Weekly Market Notes for February 07, 2013

Hello Market Friends:

We're hoping that market day will just bring a bit of fluffy snow, and our lovely market babies will be back. When all but a few disappear, baby it's cold outside!

Our Best-Baa-laid-plans did not work out on last week's blustery Thursday. The van broke down on the way to market, so no ricotta! Never mind, we have a re-run this time, with ricotta on special, and copies of last week's recipes available, too. It's cozy inside, Blythe and Colette will be back with jams, preserves, seeds and body care, and the guys in the garage will be working on their jokes as well as filling your grocery bags.

"Kind Organics has joined forces with Chocosol to bring you NEW Raw Herb Infused Chocolate!!! We will be sampling our newest two types: Root Energy and Flower Power. This chocolate is infused with dried herbs that we grew this past season. The chocolate is Locally crafted (by Chocosol), Horizontally Traded and RAW, sweetened with coconut sugar. Each beautifully wrapped bar is $5 or 2 for $8.

This week and next we will have a Valentine's Day special so ask Sandra!"

Sosnickis' contribution: "While paperwork and ordering seeds is underway, we're still busy trimming out storage Cabbages and washing some nice Fingerling and Red Potatoes for Dufferin! Lots of Raw Sauerkraut (for healthy gut flora!!), Vegan Cabbage Rolls, Perogies and lots of frozen Green Beans! Everyone should make plans to venture out to COG's 2013 Conference on February 16th! "Organic: The Way Forward". Should be a great time, and this year I (Jessie) will be speaking on the panel "Committed - Personal Stories Of Transformation and Action". Jessie & Ben

Take a look at the list below and you'll see why Wiarton Willie had to bust out of hibernation. There is so much on in the coming days!

See you at the market!
