Together Project: newcomer picnic

June 23, 2018

Newcomer Picnic in Dufferin Grove Park: COSTI Immigrant Services and Together Project hosted an afternoon with art, music, sports, gardening, and prizes. Lunch was provided.

Project director Anna Hill said that when she saw the rain forecast a few days earlier, she called Dufferin Grove to see if they could borrow some tents, but were told no. However, on the morning of the picnic, a staff person came down and offered them the loan of the tents (the park has so many because of the farmers' market and the pizza day/Friday Night supper events). It might be that the mayor's visit helped change the decision.
